Well, that all depends. The two actually respected each other and all, but I don't like Lynyrd Skynard anyway. So a good excuse if anybody asks me why I don't like them is "Psh. They dissed Neil Young. They are not worth my time!"

I think Stonesfans are meant to hate the Eagles. Not that they did anything to each other, it's just the way it goes. And man, I hate the Eagles...

Yeah the two never actually had any bad blood between them

But like suzylee, I don't like them on my own already minus two or three songs

id say, dont hate him because of that thing with him and neil. if you ever hate him, it should only be for your own reason, and i dont see any reason to.

i dont listen to any of his music except for sweet home alabama though because i love that song.

Neil, of course, rules. That said, I like much of Skynyrd's stuff.

BTW--Lynyrd Skynyrd is a "they", not a "him". It is the name of the band, much like Led Zeppelin or Jethro Tull. The name was inspired by a high school principal, or something like that, named Leonard Skinnard, or something like that. :-)

As Neil fans we are supposed to feel any way we want to about them, as with everything, and feel free to change our mind as we go along.

It's like the old question "What beer should you drink if you love Neil?" Answer was "Any beer that you like." That's the true spirit of Neilanity.

I hope you're kidding with this one. Ronnie Van Zant (singer of Lynyrd Skynyrd) and the rest were HUGE Neil Young fans. They wrote the song as a joke, and even felt guilty about putting those lyrics in. It was just a song talking about how the South had good qualities too. In fact, Neil wrote them a letter telling them how much he really liked the song, and they both thought it was hillarious. Ronnie often war a Neil Young T-shirt in concert, and Neil even covered the song himself in that ironic way of his. hehe.

It's a lame controversy that's not a controversy, y'know? Read "Shakey" or "Backstabbing Bastards" by Al Kooper. All in there. =D
